I've observed that Stanford is shifting from Java to JavaScript in its introductory computer science courses, or few coding competitions are now permitting Python as an option. Does this suggest that Java is losing its relevance?

Java has faced increasing competition from languages like Python, JavaScript, and Go, which have gained popularity for their simplicity and versatility in modern development. While Java remains widely used in enterprise applications, Android development, and large-scale systems, its growth has slowed compared to these emerging languages. However, Java's robust ecosystem, strong community support, and continual updates keep it relevant. Its long-standing presence in academia and industries ensures a steady demand for Java developers, even as newer languages capture attention. Overall, while Java may be losing some ground, it remains a significant player in the programming landscape.
